Two Haiku Poems

Two Haiku poems I wrote. I’ve also translated them to English. First one inspired by Dreams, classic movie of Akira Kurosawa. Second one named ‘Ants’ is a reflection of my reminiscence for my country, where rain has multiple faces of laughter, love and cruelty.

Dreams

“When the sun shines through rain,

A boy went for foxes’ wedding

a dream I shared with Kurosawa”

Ants

Rain drops of Thulam* scatters in the porch

refugee ants wait in the verandah

Sugar crystals were smuggled (from kitchen)

* Thulam is the month of heavy rains in native place Kerala
